FREEDOM IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD”

Passage: Exodus 34, 35, 36:1-7

Bible Text: Exodus 34, 35, 36:1-7 | Memory Verses: Acts 3:19-20 (NLT)
19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

What Does the Scripture Say?

Moses set up a place and went to meet with God
[Exodus 33:1-8]
The Lord met Moses and talked with him-Face to Face
[Exodus 33:9-11]
[Notice the effect on others when Moses met with the Lord]
God commands Moses to make two more stone tablets to replace the two he had broken and early in the morning God met with Moses-when God’s presence was felt by Moses, he broke out into praise of who God is and what He has done for the Children of Israel-God makes a covenant with Moses
[Exodus 34:1-10]
The more time Moses spent with the God, the closer he wanted to get to Him
Moses continually brought up the people before the Lord
Moses face glowed as a result of being in the presence of God
[Exodus 34:28-25
Read Psalms 57: Enjoying God’s presence as a place of:
Refuge from danger
Prayer to calm our fears
Power to overcome obstacles

How does this affect me?

God wants to be in a personal growing relationship with us, the more time we spend with God the more we understand Him, the more we see Him working and the stronger we become to both hear and carry out His will for our lives

Being in the presence of God changes us, we develop a deeper desire to serve Him and a deeper love for the people He has placed in our world

Being in the presence of God becomes noticeable to others, we are different-in attitude, which affects how we live our lives-what is important to us changes-how we treat others changes

Being in the presence of God gives us direction and purpose and gives us an inner strength to deal with the enemy and with life’s challenges

Personal Reflections

1. How does God communicate with people today?
2. What area[s] of your life have you give 100% to God?
3. What area[s] of your life do you hold on to?
4. How often each day do you find yourself, consciously in the presence of God?

What do you have to do [on purpose] to get consciously in God’s presence more often?
