”BE STILL, THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!”
Scripture Reading: Exodus 14: 5-31
____________________________________________________________
Memory Verses: Psalm 144:1-2
1 Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. 2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, Who subdues peoples under me

What does the Bible say?
Slaves for 400 years, [4 generations]
They didn’t like being slaves, but they knew how to survive being slaves
[Genesis 14:12-21]
God rescues them from slavery
Through as series of plagues God convinces the Egyptians to let the Israelites leave
[Exodus 6-12]
Israelites focus on the problem, not the problem solver
The Israelites saw the danger in Pharaoh’s Army; they forgot who they were and whose they were
[Exodus 14:10-12]
God protects, God delivers
Through a protective cloud of fire and parting the Red Sea, God shows the Israelites how He fights for them
[Exodus 14:19-30]
Israelites Refocus on God
When they, [We] remember God is for us, we can face any challenge
[Exodus 14:31-15:21]
How does this apply to me today?
Life has challenges, every day some big, some small some that seem insurmountable, but God wants to remind us that He is bigger than our problems and He already has a solution worked out to see us through if we trust Him

When we take our eyes off God it is only the problem we see, we need to work at looking through the problem and seeking God for His direction-sometimes He will help us avoid the problem and sometimes He will go with us through the problem to the other side if we put our trust in Him

There is nothing on this earth that has been devised by man that God cannot overcome, so we need to work at losing our fear of what man can do and focus on what God can do.

Sometimes the problems we face may lead to our physical death, but that is the best news of all-we have an eternal home with God waiting for us when this earthly body quits, an eternity with God-no more pain-no more tears
Personal Reflections

1. My spiritual power starts with my relationship with God, today!
A. Is my relationship with my Father, growing, stagnate, or going backward?
B. Daily, am I feeding my human nature or my spiritual inner being?
2. The actions I take are a direct result of the things I think!
A. Do I focus on the past [good and bad], dream about the future, or live in the here and now?
B. Does my Lord control my today, prepare my tomorrow or is all my
Dependence on me?
3. Am I responsible for results or for effort and God the results?

ADDITIONAL BIBLE VERSES TO REVIEW

Exodus 15:3
3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.
14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a human being. Surely the LORD was fighting for Israel!
Joshua 23:3-5
3 You yourselves have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the LORD your God who fought for you. 4 Remember how I have allotted as an inheritance for your tribes all the land of the nations that remain—the nations I conquered—between the Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 The LORD your God himself will push them out for your sake. He will drive them out before you, and you will take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.
2 Samuel 5:24
24 As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.”
2 Chronicles 20:29
29 The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.
Nehemiah 4:20
20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”
Psalm 18:30-36
30 As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. 31 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God? 32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. 34 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 35 You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. 36 You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
Psalm 121:1-8
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
